Here is why Rashford can be Manchester United main man

Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has said that Marcus Rashford can make himself main Manchester United man.

Rashford has been the preferred centre-forward by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since his arrival and the 21-year old has repaid that faith with six goals in eight games. He scored the solitary goal against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium as the Reds squeezed a slim win at a ground they have been favourites to win at in recent history.

“The form he’s in at the moment, if he continues that, they won’t need to buy anyone else or bring Romelu Lukaku back into the side. He can be United’s, main man. I was at this ground to see England against Switzerland and we debated that night whether Rashford could ever be that man. I was doubtful of that but what’s happened under the interim manager – we talk about an audition for the manager but Rashford can make himself United’s centre-forward, show he can be the man to take you to a title or a Champions League.” Carragher told Sky Sports.

Rashford himself who made his career 100 appearances said that he would rather be an all-rounded player who can play in various forward positions as the demands in the current football world have changed.

“I don’t think anyone grows up wanting to be just a striker nowadays, the game has changed and you want to be an all-around forward – to play on the left, right, number 10. What’s happened in my career so far has enabled me to do that. Getting the goal today is good and we have to keep improving, keep doing it more and more” Rashford said.
