Ruto issues a strong warning to his allies

Deputy President William Ruto has for the longest time been facingh backlash following his early campaign for the 2022 presidential bid, but that seem to have com e to an end for now as he has issued a statement warning his people to stop with the early campaigns.

In a press statement from his spokesman David Mugonyi, Ruto distanced himself from those who have been mobilizing voters ahead of the 2022 presidential campaign.

He further added saying that he was firmly committed to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s big four agenda and would only campaign at the appropriate time.

“It has come to the attention of the Deputy President that there are individuals and/or groups who are purporting to be mobilising support connected to his 2022 presidential campaign. At no time has the Deputy President approved, canvassed or engaged in any other form of preparation for a presidential or other campaign after the last Presidential Election.”

“At the moment, he is working to support the President to ensure that Jubilee’s transformational agenda, especially the Big 4, is fully realised in every part of the country,”

DP Ruto warning came days after President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga ordered politicians  to stop politicking and focus on development programs.

Kenyatta and Odinga’s allies have accused Ruto of being behind the “team tanga tanga” a group of MPs who have been actively accompanying the DP and campaigning for his 2022 presidential election.
