Kenyan giant company Bidco has been forced to tuck its tail between its legs and apologise after releasing an advert with what appeared to be a terror theme. What started off as an innocent brand strategy ended up to be an epic fail after Kenyans rained in on the company forcing them to pull the video down.
This Instagram ad by Bidco Africa is badly timed and worse, in poor taste. pic.twitter.com/CykYAcin67

It all started when Bidco shared a video of their new juice product on Monday, January 28, with the aim of properly portraying ‘bursting into flavours.’ Soon after, Kenyans streamed their comment section to express their distaste for what they termed as a heartless and inconsiderate video.
Wow! Just WOOOOWWW!😵😬

The short clip which lasted for a few seconds was meant to introduce Jooz, the company’s new mango juice. It consisted of a perfectly diced mango but the icing on the cake was the grenade safety lever that was placed on top of the juicy fruit. Then, the fruit would burst and transition into a delectable juice sealed in a bottle.
Wtf.

A furious group of netizens just exclaimed as they tried to understand why such a concept would be released for public viewing. Shortly, Bidco pulled the video down and offered an apology. “We apologise for the post published on IG promoting our Jooz Juice brand. We have since taken down the post. As a Kenyan company we stand in solidarity with all Kenyans and remain committed to delivering products that reflect the values and aspirations of all Kenyans,” the company wrote.

This comes as Kenyans are still trying to mourn the lives lost during the unforgettable DusitD2 terror attack that claimed the lives of 21 people.
