Manchester United blasted for disrespecting sir Alex

Paul Scholes has criticized Manchester United for not heeding to Sir Alex Ferguson’s wish of having the class of ’92 have more say in the club.

Scholes, who retired at the same time with Ferguson in 2013, says it was always his former coach wish to have the former stars be involved in matters Man United after retirement. Scholes, 44, was referring to Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Gary, and Phil Neville and Nicky Butt. Only Butt is engaged with the club affairs now as the coach for the academy. Giggs took charge after David Moyes dismissal and was Louis Van Gaal’s assistant and now is in charge of the Wales national team.

“It is a little bit strange. I think it was always the [former] manager’s idea that he would have us all involved in some capacity. He went at the same time, we retired together. In an ideal world, he would have liked that but it didn’t happen for a year or so and people got other interests.” Scholes told The Guardian.

The six members of the class of ’92 now own 60% of Salford City club with the recent entrant being David Beckham who purchased 10% of the club’s stake.

“Salford obviously took a big chunk of that, people went into different stuff. Gary went into management [at Valencia], Ryan is now at Wales. The manager always wanted something similar to a Bayern Munich or an Ajax where there are always ex-players there involved in the club, but it just has not happened.” the former midfielder added

“Saturday afternoon is the hardest thing. I can go out and watch games but I’m constantly on my phone looking at results, what score is this, what score is that. You have no real involvement but you’re obsessed with it. I want that feeling back again of working towards something through the week, working towards the end game on a Saturday through to the end of the season.” Scholes explained how life after retirement has taken a different direction.
