Mourinho gives his conditions before taking over Real Madrid

Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United but rumours of offers from around the world have surfaced and he looks likely to return to management.

The Mirror reports that Benfica recently made an approach for their former boss after they parted ways with Rui Vitoria.

Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira told Mourinho that he would have good money to spend if he were to take the reins at Estádio da Luz. However, Mourinho is apparently holding out for a bigger job and there’s no bigger job than the one at Real Madrid, one he used to hold.

Current Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari is struggling for results and his side sits fifth in LaLiga. Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar believes that Mourinho will take the job on two conditions:

Mourinho wants guarantees over the size of his transfer kitty and has told Florentino Perez that he wants to strengthen the team’s spine, especially up front and in defence.

He also wants guarantees that the club will identify a prolific striker that can make up for the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid has struggled since the departure of their all-time record goal-scorer to Juventus and a top-class goal-scorer would be right at the top of Jose’s agenda.
