Kenyans plead with Governor Joho to support needy student

Kenyans have called upon the Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho to support a needy student who was among the top performers from a school in Changamwe.

According to Baraka FM, Hemstone Ouma completed his primary education from St. Charles Lwanga and was got an admission letter to Alliance High School.

The student was however living in fear that his admission to the Alliance High school could go into waste, due to lack of finances to cater for his transport and shopping.

In a fundraising campaign that was initiated by Baraka FM, Kenyans were invited to donate any amount to this No. 0716 762 701 (Judith Akinyi – Ouma’s mother).

A number of parents could be going through the same situation as they make ends meet to take their children to school.

Some leaders had called upon the  school heads to admit needy students who cannot afford to raise the full amount considering the harsh economic times.

Despite this  suggestion the problem in this situation is not even being able to get the transport and basics.

Digital Humanitarian Philip Ogolla took to twitter to  direct this request to Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho and tagged CS Amina Mohammed on the same.

This request attracted the reactions of Kibra MP, Kenneth Okoth who suggested that  the Changamwe CDF should come through from the student.

The mother to the student has now given an update saying that the student only needs transport so that he may go to school.

Sharing of frustrations online could be quite helpful and Kenyans have shown a sense of support to allow
