With reports linking Mesut Ozil with a move back to Real Madrid in a swap deal with Isco, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has insisted that the German has a future at the club.
Ozil was dropped in the 2-0 Carabao Cup loss over Tottenham Hotspur with the move fueling transfer rumors.
Reports suggested that Ozil is set for a transfer back to Real Madrid in a swap deal with Isco who has been used sparingly after the takeover of Santiago Solari.
When asked whether Ozil has a future at Arsenal, Emery replied, “Yes, why not? I want every player with a good mentality to help us and give us their characteristics and quality. We need Mesut Ozil. Emery went on to reveal that he spoke with Ozil about his future at the club,
“But I spoke with every player, with Mesut, with Jenkinson, with Mo, with Petr Cech, with Auba. With every player. Sometimes individual, sometimes with the group.”
