Manchester United dependable duo set to miss weekend action

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided an injury update on David Silva and Vincent Kompany noting that the duo will miss this weekend’s clash against Crystal Palace.

City had a mini injury crisis with a bunch of their players out injured, but that has eased up recently as Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero returned to full fitness. Silva picked up a hamstring injury in the defeat at Chelsea two weeks ago, while Kompany has a muscular problem that has kept him out of the last two matchday squads.

Guardiola revealed that Silva has resumed training but will miss the clash against Palace, “He’s started to train, it’s first steps but still he is not ready. I don’t know. The Spaniard said Kompany was ‘much better’ but would not be fit enough to feature against Palace.

Manchester City are now four points behind Liverpool and must beat Palace to apply pressure to table toppers Liverpool who beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0.
