Mourinho has criticised his players’ mentality and and spirit earlier in the season while he said his players lacked desire and heart in their lacklustre draw against Crystal Palace. So what does he make of his squad’s level this term?
“I feel that in some matches, the way we start is not that intense, emotional aggressive way I would like the team to start,” he said.
“Against Young Boys, we had that start and I imagine what the game would be if after 10 minutes the score is 2-0. So, sometimes it is efficiency, and chances, in this case goals, have a huge impact in the way the game goes.
“Sometimes I think it is efficiency and sometimes it is the way we approach the game. It makes me a bit confused because all the world is based on strong starts and being intense and aggressive since the beginning.”
