The debate to attain gender balance in the houses of representations have sparked numerous reactions among Kenyans.
Some people have expressed their support in efforts to attain a balanced society where even women have a say in the national matters. For over years it has been said that the society is dominated by man, Women take a back seat when it comes to National matters.
But to attain the 2/3 representation has proved to be an uphill task. The first time the Bill was tabled in the parliament it failed to attain the required threshold.
For the second time Duale is sponsoring the debate will it really pass?
Just last week Ole Sankok nominated member of parliament from Nakuru has trending online for his conditions for the bill. Sankok said that the women who deserve to be nominated should be women of dignity. He elaborated by saying that they should be married with known husband and children. This attracted an online confrontation from single women who rubbished his reasoning.
When he speaks, one is often left wondering whether his nomination to the National Assembly was based on physical disability or mental incapacity. pic.twitter.com/bhgbV8gsZz
