‘Iron Lady’ Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua on Tuesday evening caused excitement among Kenyan netizens with a rare attack on Deputy President William Ruto and his campaign team.
Karua took to Twitter to deny a campaign message allegedly peddled by the DP’s campaigners, claiming she had endorsed Ruto for the Presidency in 2022.
However, the former Presidential candidate did not only dismiss the message but went ahead in her characteristic no-nonsense style to describe Ruto as the least qualified Presidential candidate.
I have not endorsed DP Ruto for Presidency – Martha Karua.
“That is true!I hold the view that @WilliamsRuto is the least qualified for the job and as such would never endorse him. His campaign should desist from dragging my name along,” she said while responding to a tweet denying Karua had endorsed Ruto.
The Narc Kenya party leader’s tweet drew quick reactions from admirers and critics.
“Bam!!….You don’t mess with the IRON LADY!!!!” Ekitomoni tweeted.
“I do like the way Hon Martha Karua do her politics, she is an independent lady who will never lick someone shoes for sympathy and that’s a fact,” Josiah Muli stated.
The Deputy President’s supporters were also not left behind, many dismissing Karua’s statement in reference to her failed bids for the Presidency and the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race.
“I’m sorry #Martha you had your chance but you never caught it, you can try women representative, I’ll also vote. #RutoForPresident,” K Kimwei responded.
“It is alright , it’s your democratic right not to endorse him but it’s also my hope that your actions are not influenced by the fact that Ruto running mate will be your namesis Governor Ann Mumbi Waiguru,” Wachira Ndungu said in a rejoinder.
