We all know that Kenyans are thieves. In fact our corrupt leaders are just a reflection of who we are and given chance we could steal double than the sh 9 billion that was lost from the NYS coffers.
But as other Kenyans are stealing billions, another one decided to injure the reputation of the country and his fellow Kenyans by stealing cheap inner pants whose cost is less than sh 1k.
This is not a story I am making up by the way, as the man wass arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on Monday and charged with the theft.
The court was told that Evans Kobiero Sewe stole two pairs of inner wear worth Ksh.480 and Ksh.450, a suit worth Ksh.8,495 and shoes valued at Ksh.3,995, a shirt, T-shirt, socks, a tie and three vests. The total cost of the items was valued at Ksh.17,810.
It is alleged that he committed the offence on November 1, 2018 at Tuskys Supermarket, Imara branch along Tom Mboya street in Nairobi. The accused denied the allegations before Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.
He was released on a bond of Ksh.20,000 with an alternative of Ksh.10,000 cash bail. I am sure that he may not be able to raise that amount money and may stay in remand until December 3, 2018 when the case will be heard.
Just imagine what other inmates will do to him if they hear that he stole inner wears? Trust me, criminals are not very kind when they encounter people like Kobiero, people who bring disrepute to their profession.
When other people are walking away with millions like the Kenya Power Scandal, in which the CEO and other employers stole more than 400 million and the NCPB scandal in which the country paid billions to fraudulent farmers, this man stole boxers. Really?
