Land grabbing has been named as one of the factors that lead to poverty and one of the ways that encourages corrupt dealings. Politicians and a number of leaders have been named among those who take part in the practice, and this appetite for land is affecting many Kenyans in very adverse ways.
Kenyans today took to social media to address their anger and fury on the land grabbing issues that are slowly killing our society. Leading to poverty, sexual extortion among other unseen effects.
With our leaders taking part in the practice, curbing such acts becomes difficult since they use their power as a shield of the unjust acts.
The wake of Kenyans in regard to the matter could be an open door to bringing this ‘land greed’ to an end.
Kenyans exposed cases of people who dupe others and sell them land they don’t even own.. to the major indicators and contributing factors of land grabbing.
If u want to know that land has cartels, tembea thika out of 10men u meet, well dressed, want to sell land somewhere that they don’t own! I bought land in thika kisii-Estate that was also claimed by 10other people, who is the owner of this land?? #LandCorruptionKE

Some of the key indicators of #landCorruptionKE is the failure by relevant offices to digitize documents. Files always go missing or take forever to retrieve. Bribery therefore is used to speed up things. This should change.
When I saw #LandCorruptionKE first this that popped on my head was William samoei Ruto.

It is important to know the land laws and the rights of land ownership to avoid cons. It is a war between the powerful and the voiceless and if not fought well.. it might not end well. Already Kenyans can feel and see the damage it is causing.
Kenyans have vowed to stand together to make sure that they fight corruption since it is a violation of human rights.
Have a look at these reactions.

Did you know that corruption in the land sector also takes the form of sexual extortion? This is where individuals in positions
of power demand sexual favours as a bribe for land services @TIKenya @landcorruption #LandCorruption #LandCorruptionKE— Mary Maneno (@mary_maneno) November 5, 2018
#Landcorruptionke can be fought if governments and citizens work together to find solutions. Solutions must be gender sensitive as land corruption affects men and women differently. #Saccos and #pensionschemeske are not spared either. pic.twitter.com/Kr86wTT3e8

Another tact of land-grabbing is disinheriting families from their ancestral land through fraudulent acquisition of court orders and letters of grant coupled with long court processes – the cartels have a field day #landCorruptionKE @TIKenya @Kevinmabonga1 https://t.co/dZBbXwvA8L
