Barely a day after the chaos in the Homa Bay County Assembly, rowdy MCAs in Nyandarua County have yet again caused drama when they blocked the County Assembly Speaker, Wahome Ndegwa from accessing the chambers.
The leadership row erupted when the MCAs accused the Speaker of failing to recognize Edinald King’ori (North Kinangop) as majority leader and Justus Gaita (Kiriita) as deputy minority leader, both of whom were elected by Jubilee MCAs on September 27, 2018.

Journalists who were covering the chaos in the chambers were kicked out and descended on with blows and slaps from the assembly’s security who claim that they had received instructions from the Speaker.
According to reports from the Nation, Royal Media Services reporter Patris Simbili sustained injuries on his head during the incident while Radio Africa Group reporter Ndichu Wainaina had his press card was confiscated. Kameme FM reporter Jimmy Muguo and Sauti ya Mwananchi journalist Jathan Kamau are also said to have been attacked by the security.
Kenyans are now tired of the drama and baggage that the MCAs come with.

When are we gonna have a conversation on the role of MCAs in this country? Nyandarua County Assembly

The MCAs have become a nuisance. They first went for each other in Nakuru. Then held a concert at Beatrice Alachi's office in Nairobi. In Kakamega, they turned carpenters at the speaker's office. And now in Nyandarua, they're showcasing what mama gave them. Where the action next?

The MCAs who want the Speaker impeached, have called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve the House and the county government to allow fresh elections.
