Why Miguna Miguna Strongly opposes referendum

Lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has strongly opposed the referendum that is being advocated for by some Kenyan political leaders among them former prime minister Raila Odinga and the Thirdway Alliance party leader Dr Ekuru Aukot.

The leaders calling for referendum have hence been supported by several other political leaders among them members of the National Assembly.

Miguna through his twitter account has called upon all Kenyans to oppose the referendum citing constitutional amendments since the year 1964 as having consolidated authoritarianism.

He termed former presidents’ Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel Moi amendments in the year 1964 and 1982 respectively as having resulted to dictatorship in the country and made Kenya a one party state.

Miguna has recently been on the forefront to oppose everything done by ODM Party leader whom he commissioned his swearing in ceremony as people’s president in March at Uhuru Park after the claims by NASA that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party had been aided by IEBC to rig the votes.

Recently Miguna opposed Odinga’s move to campaign for his candidate in the concluded Migori County Senatorial by elections Achillo Ayacko, who won the elections.

Miguna who normally call out Odinga names was campaigning for ODM’s competitor Eddy Oketch Gicheru who was contesting on Federal Party of Kenya ticket.

His deportation to Canada came as a result of commissioning Odinga’s swearing in ceremony that led to his arrest for treason judgement, arising claims of him renouncing his Kenyan Citizenship in the year 1998.

He has since tried to unsuccessful come back to the Country and has yet made another come back announcement, after December 7,2018, the day he claims Justice Chacha Mwita will deliver a ruling into his case.

He currently opposes everything done by the government of Kenya since Odinga joined it through the handshake witnessed between him the President Kenyatta on March 9, 2018.
