It was reported that the Governor is suffering from cervical spondylosis, an age related condition that affects the joints and discs in cervical spine in the neck.

The report also revealed that Obado will have to stay in the National Hospital longer, after his admission.

The Governor, who has been in remand pending investigations into the murder of university student Sharon Otieno, was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after he fell ill on Wednesday.

He is expected to appear in Court on Monday next week, for a fresh hearing on his bail application. The governor is said to be under a 24-hour guard by prison officers at KNH and is admitted in ward 6A where other inmates are admitted.

Last week on Monday, the Migori Governor denied charges of murdering Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno. He was later taken to Industrial Area Remand Prison ahead of a bail hearing which was denied on Thursday.

High Court judge Jessie Lessit directed that Obado be detained until October 8, 2018 (next Monday) when his bail application will be reconsidered together with that of his co-accused.

High Court Judge Jessi Lessit denied Obado’s bail application on Thursday afternoon. Obado is now set to remain in prison remand court until October 8 when a fresh bail application will be made.

The judge also ruled that Obado being a Governor and a man who rose to power through politics he had a likelihood of interfering with witnesses’ accounts.

In applying for the bail, Obado’s lawyer Cliff Ombetta argued that that his client would comply with all the orders of the court ant that he would not influence the witnesses if released on bail.

Obado on Monday denied charges of killing his 26-year-old girlfriend Ms Sharon Otieno.
