Songstress Suzanna Owiyo Mourns Musical gods Joseph Kamaru and Jerry Jalamo

 

Kenyan Songstress Suzanna Owiyo has joined other celebrities, dignitaries and Kenyans at large in Morning Musical Legend Joseph Kimaru together with Ohangla Maestro Jerry Jalamo who both passed away this week.

“The Kenya music fraternity has lost two great voices. Rest well Legend Joseph Kamaru and Jerry Jalamo. You impacted many through your music. My heartfelt condolences to family,friends and fans” tweeted Suzanna Owiyo.


Celebrated Kikuyu benga musician Joseph Kamaru died at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted since Monday after he fell ill, his son, Stephen Maina, confirmed.

Luo Benga maestro Julius Ongen’ge Okuku, 60, popularly known as Jerry Jalamo died on Tuesday 2, October with his death leaving his many fans in shock.

Jalamo, who was also the band leader, lead singer and composer of his group, passed away at Owen hospital, Bondo where he was undergoing treatment for various ailments. Prior to this, the musician is said to have undergone a minor surgery at the same hospital and was reported to be out of danger.
