Was Mourinho-Pogba burst up stage managed ?

Liverpool legend Danny Murphy claims that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho knew what he was doing when he had a public spat with Paul Pogba in front of the cameras while training.

There have been reports of a burst up between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho which was evident after the Wolverhampton Wanderers disappointing draw when the midfielder questioned his manager’s tactics. Mourinho then responded by stripping Pogba of his vice-captaincy role which he confirmed after the Derby County defeat. The two then had a fall out the following day after the defeat when Mourinho sent the French man away from training after a burst up.

Murphy claims that the burst up might be staged, “Mourinho could have pulled him aside before training. The more I think about it, the more I think Mourinho has done it on purpose. I don’t think it is flippant – he is too clever. I spoke to people who work with Mourinho, and they eulogize about him and his attention to detail. He is always preparing things and knowing how he is going to deal with the press.”

The former Liverpool midfielder claims Mourinho is all too aware of the press and could not commit a blunder in front of the cameras, “All of a sudden he has become unaware of the press? People can lipread now. The more we talk about it I am convinced he has done that on purpose. I have had a couple of managers that I did not get on with, you just clash. Other players will speak really highly of them. Pogba and Mourinho might just not get on.”
