Should Gor Mahia Fans be worried after this?

Gor Mahia are likely to start their campaign next term without their British coach Dylan Kerr who will be away in England on a three month medical leave.

Kerr is due to undergo a neurological surgery to remove a mass that has compressed two veins on the back side of his neck which makes blood flow a big problem.

But this do not sound well with Gor fans because they know very well what it means when a coach leaves the country. In 2014, Zradvko Logarusic left the country for his native Croatia but refused to come back.

Kerr says he finds it difficult to run as is required of an active coach during training, saying the MRI scans have confirmed his condition.

Kerr added that neurologist has recommended a three months rest after the surgery before getting back to active coaching role.

We all know the coach has worked under very poor environment losing some key players in the middle of season and at one time , players also went on a go slow.

The soft spoken coach who led Gor Mahia to this year’s Caf- Confederations Cup group stage as well as guiding the glamour club to a 17th KPL title has however hinted that his love for K’Ogalo is unrelenting and is keen on extending his stay with the Kenyan champions, the motive to win more silverware.

‘’I can’t make my runs during training. Shouting alone is not enough and I need to demonstrate my instructions physically. But this low flow of blood strains my efforts to run up and down. I will be seeking leave from the club to undergo the operation in the UK,’’ Said Kerr.

According to Kerr, the surgery was initially penciled for June but he opted to wait for the League to end so as to have ample time to seek medical attention.
