Five Players That Chelsea Regrets Selling Terribly

1. Arjen Robben

The Bayern veteran is one of the world’s best. At 34 it looks like he has a few years left playing at the highest level.

He left Chelsea in 2007 to join Real Madrid after not enjoying his time in London. He also mentioned how he did not enjoy playing under the manager at the time, Jose Mourinho.

2. Juan Mata

Mata joined Chelsea in 2011. He had a great time, but failed to get game time in his last season under Jose Mourinho. This led to him deciding to leave for Manchester United where he has been ever since, and is also a vital part of the team.

3. Mohamed Salah

The 2017/18 Premier League Golden Boot winner is having a brilliant time at Liverpool. During his one year so far at Liverpool, he has made himself one of the world’s finest players scoring 44 goals in all competitions last term.

The 25-year-old spent 2 years at Chelsea from 2014-2016 where he played 13 times and scored 2 goals. Chelsea did not realise his great potential and so he left to play for Roma.

4. Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku had a great time and he scored 53 goals in 110 games during his three years. This meant that he had become a player in high demand. In the summer of 2017, Man United spent £75 million on him.

He went to the World Cup in 2018 and scored 4 goals and is regarded as one of the best strikers in football.

5. Kevin De Bruyne

The Man City midfielder joined Chelsea in January 2012, signing a five and a half year contract. However, Jose Mourinho did not favour Kevin and he ended up leaving in 2014 to join Wolfsburg.

He now plays for Man City where he has become one of the best in the world and a future contender for the Ballon d’Or.
