The one mistake Emery since arriving at Arsenal- Seaman

The former Arsenal goalkeeper wasn’t happy with the new boss for letting one star depart, David Seaman says he was saddened that Unai Emery didn’t do more to keep Jack Wilshere at Arsenal. The 26-year-old midfielder joined West Ham on a three-year deal last week having been at Arsenal since the age of nine, making his competitive Gunners debut in 2008 and clocking up 197 appearances for the club over 10 seasons.Injury issues have always hampered the 34-times capped England international – who was left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup – but Seaman, who was at Arsenal for 13 years, feels as though a deal could have been structured to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.
“I don’t know a whole pile about Unai Emery, but I certainly wouldn’t have let Jack Wilshere leave Arsenal,” he told Paddy Power .”He is a player who can unlock defences, he’s got that little bit of magic.”Everyone keeps banging on about his injuries, but why not offer him a pay-as-you-play contract, then? I hate seeing good players leave Arsenal. I saw when people like Robin van Persie, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri went and doubled their wages overnight, so I could understand it from their point of view. However, the fact that we were letting our best players go was really annoying – and I feel like we’ve done that again with Jack.”He was, as the fans chant, ‘one of our own’, but now he’s gone to West Ham. They’ll be a better team with him.
