FIFA World Cup 2018: Group Standings, Top Scorers after Serbia vs Switzerland match

The Group E match between Serbia and Switzerland ended on a dramatic note as Xherdan Shaqiri claimed a dramatic 90th-minute winner to put help his team claim 2-1 win and hence become the first side this tournament to come from behind and claim a win. Xhaka and Shaqiri joined in as the two new goalscorers this World Cup while Alexander Mitrovic also found a name on the scoresheet.  As far as the Golden Boot race is concerned, Cristiano Ronaldo is still the top scorer with 4 goals.

 

Top Scorers: Portugal captain Ronaldo has 4 goals to his name, followed by Denis Cheryshev of Russia and Diego Costa of Spain, both of whom have 3 goals each to their name. Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku are some of the other top forwards with 2 goals each in their kitty.

 

Group Standings: The Group saw a dramatic turn around as Nigeria beat Iceland 2-0. It was a similar scenario for Group E where Switzerland’s 2-1 win over Serbia saw them go joint-top alongside Brazil while the Serbians dropped to third place. Here are the group standings in full:
