Salah to play World Cup opener against Uruguay

Egypy coach  Hector Cuper is almost 100% certain that star man Mohammed Salah will be fit to play in his team’s World Cup first game  against Uruguay on Friday. The Liverpool star’s participation in the World Cup was thrown into doubt when he was forced off in the first half of the Champions League final just over a fortnight ago.

After tangling with Sergio Ramos, the Egyptian landed heavily on his left shoulder and left the field in tears before watching his team-mates lose 3-1. Egypt have remained hopeful he will feature against Luis Suarez’s Uruguay  on Friday with the forward taking full part in Wednesday’s training session.

And manager Cuper is now more confident than ever that Salah will be ready in time. ‘Mohamed Salah is doing very well indeed, he’s recovered very quickly,’ Cuper said at a press conference on Thursday. ‘We’ll see how it goes today. I can almost assure you 100% that he’ll play’
