Argentina travelled by boat for 17 days to play just one game

In the second edition of the World Cup, the runners-up of the 1930 tournament travelled to Italy by boat with the journey lasting 17 days. Fourteen of the 18-man squad were of Italian descent and had never been to Buenos Aires. They played a qualifying game against Sweden in Bologna and lost 3-2 before turning back to Argentina.
