World Cup 2018; Spain suffer double injury scare ahead of Portugal opener

Spain have been hit with an injury scare just days before the start of the 2018 World Cup. La Roja kick off their campaign with an Iberian derby date against Portugal on Friday. Fears have emerged after starting centre back Gerard Pique injured his left knee in training on Monday.

The Barcelona defender picked up his knee knock after he had a ‘bad step’, as reported by Marca. While Pique tried to stretch out his problem at training, in the end of the defender was forced out of the session early.

The same report claimed that Man City midfielder David Silva also finished Spain’s Monday training session early, although the reasons a unclear,  the worry now is that Silva may not be 100% to start the Portugal game.
