Messi is tired of seeing Barca’s eternal rivals Real Madrid lift the Champions League trophy and hopes to see ‘Los Cules’ winning Europe’s premier club competition next May instead.
Not since 2015 has the Catalan club secured the trophy and last season saw them surprisingly eliminated at the quarter-final stage by Roma.
The Argentina international made his ambitions very clear during an interview with Spanish newspaper ‘Mundo Deportivo’.
They lead with the headline: “We cannot go another year without winning the Champions League”. It’s simple but very effective.
