Germany sweating over Ozil fitnes

Germany could be without Mesut Ozil in the 2018 World Cup opener on 17th June against Mexico as the star races against time to be fit.

According to reports, Ozil suffered bruising to his knee after clashing with Watford’s Sebastian Prodl in last weekend’s friendly defeat to Austria. The Arsenal midfielder, who missed the Gunners final three games of the season with a back injury, opened the scoring on 11 minutes but was substituted in the second half.

The 29-year-old has undertaking fitness and conditioning work on his own since picking up the problem and is expected to miss Die Mannschaft’s final warm-up game against Saudi Arabia on Friday.
