Argentine Football Association decided to cancel the the friendly match pitting Argentina and Nicaragua ahead of the World Cup due to security concerns.
Nicaragua is experiencing social unrest and at least 38 people have died during protests against social security reforms.
TyC Sports, the Argentine broadcaster which manages the national team’s television rights, reported that the team had called off the friendly, scheduled for May 29, due to the “social crisis crossing the country”.
Argentina is planning to play Haiti or Jamaica before the World Cup.
