Mt. Kenya region is not ready to bow out of active politics in 2022 according to Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu.
In an interview on Wednesday on KTN TV, the Kieleweke MP confirmed that Central Kenya will still have a voice even after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term ends.
Wambugu argued that their is no way any political conversation can go in the country without the Kikuyu being at the nerve center.
” There is no way you can have a political conversation in this country without considering Mt. Kenya,” stated Ngunjiri.
The outspoken MP also claimed that Central Kenya leaders will be open to negotiations to avoid being locked out of the next regime.
Alluding to Census numbers, Wambugu insisted the Kikuyu community cannot be written off in the national discourse.

On the fallout between The President and his Deputy, Ngunjiri has claimed that it was engineered by Ruto’s invasion into Uhuru’s turf.

However, Wambugu has gone ahead to predict that Ruto will be in opposition after 2022.He also faulted the narrative that the DP is to thank for Uhuru’s political success, claiming that he had no role whatsoever.
In an apparent reference to Uhuru’s presidency, which Ruto has been credited for, the MP claimed he had nothing to do with Uhuru’s placement at the helm of the government.
