Shortly after citizen Tv’s expose dubbed #MaraHeist revealed the looting at one of the country’s growing institution of higher learning Mara University, Kenyans have taken to the internet to express their views.
In the exposure that was run by the station on Sunday night, the institution’s chief accountant Mr. Spencer revealed the corruption rot that is deeply rooted in the institution with the support of documented evidence, phone audio recordings as well as secret video recordings.
What was meant to unearth the shocking revelations, however, became a source of laughter for many after humorous Kenyans made fun of the institution’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Walingo after her driver Mr. Abdi Noor referred to her as “Ule Ng’ombe wetu”.
In the exposed phone conversation between the whistleblower Mr. Spencer and the VC’s driver, Mr. Abdi who was instructing the accountant to go and withdraw some cash for professor Walingo is heard saying;
“Ile Ng’ombe yetu Kubwa hii, inasema pia uwekee nyasi yeye inaskia njaa. Unaweza wekea yeye bundle mbili na nusu?” (Our big cow says she is hungry and needs some grass. Will you please give her two and half bundles) posed the driver on the phone.

And as usual cheeky Kenyans never disappointed with their interpretations of ‘Ng’ombe Kubwa’ statement with many using different graphics to illustrate what the VC’s driver actually meant in his statement.
Here are some of the funny interpretations online;

Ng'ombe Kubwa will be arrested tomorrow or the day after. Itakula nyasi at the DCI while recording a statement. It will appear in court and later released. We have all read this book. #MaraHeist
