Manchester United failed to break Wolverhampton Wanderers’ superb Premier League home games record. United luckily escaped the jaws of the Wolves with a 1-1 draw during their second EPL match on Monday night.
Ruben Neves’ stunning strike from outside the penalty area ensured the hosts maintained their resilience at their backyard as they stretched their unbeaten home record to nine league matches.

The Red Devils, who lost twice and drew once in three games against Wolves last season, took the lead before the half-hour mark when Anthony Martial buried a shot into the roof of the net following some nice build-up play.
Determined Wolves came out of the dressing room squarely on the front foot and got a deserved equaliser 10 minutes in when Neves curled in a beauty past David De Gea following a corner kick and the goal standing up after a quick video review for offside.

A draw wasn’t bad for Solskjaer’s side, who struggled last season, but they had a thing to say after the match. Here are what fans noted down after the final whistle;
Thoughts on draw vs Wolves:
– Wan-Bissaka excellent
– Maguire brings so much composure
– Shaw was terrible imo
– Martial with another goal
– AM & MR looking a promising partnership
– Why didn’t Rashford take the penalty
– Important points dropped
– Lack squad depth— Aidan Walsh 🔰 (@AidanWalshMUFC) August 19, 2019
I don’t think shaw was terrible tbh. Midfield was stifled completely in the 2nd half. I think Lingard didn’t offer much either. I think greenwood should’ve possibly started instead.

We wouldn’t be complaining about all these if we had signed Madison or BRUNO.
Man U don tire me

Shaw wasn’t terrible, a lot better than Chelsea. 2nd half whole team fell asleep, just like last year. I’m fine with passing out of the back but when the other team has momentum and are pressing we don’t need to be doing that

I swear there is an agenda against shaw. Honestly never seen so much undeserved stick aimed at one player. Had to pass back bc he had no options from teammates, always left 2v1 bc of rashford. Guy’s actually a baller🙌❤️

Subs were far too late, Ole played for the draw here. United cancelled out wolves in open play mostly. Shaw was passing back far too many times in that second half. And lingard was far too lazy in the opposition box. Could have easily made something on two clear cut chances
— Azfar Wasim (@azfar_wasim) August 19, 2019
Shaw n lingard are fkn terrible they should be no where near the starting 11… Mourinho was right about Shaw.. All he can do is pass back to a free player
— Abdul MUFC (@DurieMufc) August 19, 2019
Luke Shaw is FAT by all Italian football standards.
— Mirara_ (@mr_wakili) August 19, 2019
Why does Ole thinks Lingard is good enough for the premier League?
— Daily Blind (@dailyblindmutd) August 19, 2019
LACK SQIAD DEPTH ,ola suppose to sign Bruno ,match changer ,we have no body in d bench
— Patodavid (@Patodavid7) August 19, 2019
Rashford was poor, lingard was poor, and yet Shaw gets singled out. If not for him we wouldnt have scored
— Jack Darbyshire (@Jack7Darbyshire) August 20, 2019
I don’t get it how was shaw terrible we scored a goal because of his run, idk what he has to do to win over some dumb fans …
— Haroon (@haroonwardak1) August 20, 2019
Glad we agree on Shaw. Offers nothing going forward and nothing can’t stop crosses coming in from the right. Missed a trick not getting Tierney. I would love to see Dalot given a run of games at LB.

Overstating AWB and Maguire. AWB was solid, not excellent and Maguire was shaky for a 80m defender
— DJ Flash ⚡️ (@7habith) August 19, 2019
Top of the list – poor substitution management from Ole. Team lacked any cutting edge all second half. What is Mata supposed to do in 10 minutes, and what is Greenwood supposed to do in 2 minutes? Be confident and make changes when they need to be made.
— Colin Shea (@sheac23) August 19, 2019
Martial and Rashford where atrocious for most of the game. I’m honestly not sure what you watch. Thoughts on mctominay?!?
— Jonny Tumelty (@jonny_tumelty) August 19, 2019
Defence is good. We just have to acknowledge that conceded a wonder goal tonight. The real worry is,apart from the goal and penalty,we haven’t created anything.
— anonymousunited (@anonymousUTD7) August 19, 2019
Lingard should be nowhere near the first team and we shouldn’t be moaning about Midfield when Fred is available for crying out loud. I’m sure Lingard will start against Palace cos he’s Ole’s pet🙄🙄
— sodiq rasheed adesoy (@SodiqAdesoy) August 19, 2019
That Shaw is just the worse defender in our new defense line.. always playing sideways or backward. Terrible and sluggish.

Agree with most except Shaw. He just didnt try and use his pace. Seemed timid. Not sure if instructed since AWB was getting forward a lot
— Joey Logan (@Logando_5) August 19, 2019
And, apart from playing well deep, Wolves are a very average team. Beatable all day…

Next up for United is a home match against Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Wolves begin their Europa League campaign against Torino on Thursday before hosting Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.
