Yesterday billionaire Humphrey Kariuki finally spent the night behind bars after being arrested by Flying Squad outside the Milimani Law Courts. Kariuki had denied tax evasion charges and was released on a Ksh11 million cash bail. But he was rearrested and will be charged with importation of methanol.

De Mathew Cried Hours Before Tragic Accident
Does someone know when he is about to die? That is a question we can’t answer because you have never died if you’re reading this. Friends and family of celebrated Benga musician John De Mathew, who passed away on Sunday night, have come out to share their last moments with him.
De Mathew was involved in a road carnage near Blue Post Hotel in Thika on Sunday. Kikuyu musician Mike Rua has revealed that De Mathew was so emotional before the accident.
According to Rua, the fallen icon, broke into tears after he reminded him of a past incidence.
“I spent most of Sunday with him. Just before we parted ways he was crying when I brought something up which I cannot remember since we were partying,” said Rua.
Four People Die after Dowry Feast
A dowry negotiation ceremony in Ruirii village, Nyeri County, turned tragic after four people died of suspected food poisoning.
Among the dead is the mother of the would-be groom. Ten others have been admitted to different hospitals with diarrhoea and vomiting, said Nyeri County Director of Health Services Nelson Muriu.
Consult Before Mau Evictions, Tobiko told
Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has been urged to consult widely before embarking on the second phase of Mau evictions.
The National Assembly Committee on Environment and Natural Resources chairperson Kareke Mbiuki told Tobiko to speak with all stakeholders before taking action.
Kareke said the CS should manage the consequences of evicting 60,000 people in a humane way.
