The new currency has been clouded with a lot of controversy with most legislatures siting the breach of the constitution in the minting of the new coins. The statue of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta being the source of the controversy behind the new notes.
The Central Bank of Kenya has been firm on the issue of the New Currency stating that the minting process followed all the required constitutional guidelines.
