Police have confiscated a firearm belonging to a Nairobi man who was caught on CCTV camera threatening a security guard in Kileleshwa, Nairobi over a parking lot on Saturday, March 16. The suspect who was positively identified as Kevin Obia was picked up for questioning on Wednesday, March 20, and but was later released on police bond.
The police are investigating whether or not the suspect is a licenced gun holder ahead of his arraignment slated for Thursday, March 21. Kevin is fondly known among his clique as Kevin Klein and is a Nairobi flashy socialite who is often photographed in top end social joints with influential personalities from politicians to musicians.
On the fateful evening, he and some unnamed individuals drove in an apartment in Kileleshwa and insisted on parking his car in residents’ space despite security guards’ pleadings.
The drama started when the visitors left their friend’s house only to find his Range Rover E Vogue blocked by a car belonging to a female resident. An exchange thereafter ensued and it was at this point that Kevin drew a gun and allegedly threatened to shoot dead the hapless security officer.
