Kenya Airways has announced the official launch of non-stop flight from USA to Kenya by President Uhuru Kenyatta who has been in the New York since Friday. The flight is expected to depart on October 29, 2018. The inaugural flight from Nairobi to New York is scheduled for October 28, 2018.
The launch dinner in New York is a partnership between @KenyaAirways, @Boeing and @GeneralElectric. The flight will be operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner & powered by GEnx engines.
This flight will offer connections to over 40 African destinations through Nairobi, the Kenya Airways hub. One of the agendas which was to be discussed during President Kenyatta’s visit was to promote KQ launch of direct flights and indeed this proves his visit as fruitful.
President Kenyatta lauded the Kenya Airways and its partners for working together towards achieving what he called as a noble idea of having direct flights between Kenya and the US.
The flight will take the duration of 15 hours. President Kenyatta described this as a major boost to tourism and trade between Kenya and USA.
