Fuel prices went down in the latest review, which in turn led to a drop in transportation costs. Electricity prices have also reduced in the latest review.

Maize flour is one of the items that has recorded a drastic price drop, with decent brands now retailing at slightly above sh100 for 2KG packets.

With all these changes, Kenyans have been left questioning their recent opposition to the government’s strict economic policies, especially on taxation.

The question on all our minds is, is this slight improvement a result of something that our government has done, or is it an effect of external forces?

Having joined the country’s murky politics at a tender age, becoming the youngest Cabinet Minister at the age of 29 in 1989, Mr Mudavadi is virtually the most experienced member of President William Ruto’s Executive.

The Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has cut a niche of a conciliatory leader in government, and is seen as the ‘voice of reason’ under the Kenya Kwanza administration.

EACC Goes After Ex Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wairia & 6 Others In Ksh140 Million Tender Scandal

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has taken decisive action in the ongoing fight against corruption by ordering former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wairia, his spouse Jane Waigwe Kimani, and six other suspects to surrender.

The directive follows allegations of irregularities in the awarding of a Ksh140 million tender by the County Government of Murang’a.

The suspects have been instructed to present themselves at the EACC headquarters at Integrity Centre for processing regarding the graft charges they face. They are required to appear on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 8:00 am.

The move by the Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA) to order the immediate cessation of the deduction and remittance of trade union dues by private security officers to Cotu has put Mr Atwoli in the spotlight even as it appeared that some powerful forces in the system wanted him out of the way.

The authority has since launched an investigation into the collection and use of all funds deducted and remitted to Cotu by private security companies.
