The Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) program, which has benefited millions of students for the past 15 years, is at risk of ending due to proposals from school principals.

These proposals suggest an increase in school fees for all categories of secondary schools, with the highest increase affecting parents with children in county and extra-county schools.

If implemented, day school students, who account for about 70% of all secondary learners, would have to pay a substantial fee, and national school students would also see a significant increase in fees.
