The furor among Kenyans with the controversial Worldcoin saw at least Sh2.5 billion injected into the economy and withdrawn through M-Pesa by Kenyans who had their eyes scanned by the crypto-currency project firm, Worldcoin.

It emerged during a parliamentary committee hearing that by the time the government suspended the company’s activities, neither the National Treasury nor security agencies had flagged the transactions as suspicious.

The government of Kenya denied licensing or clearing the proprietors of Worldcoin.

Central Bank of Kenya Governor Kamau Thugge appearing before a Parliament ad hoc committee  disclosed that the CBK had no knowledge of Worldcoin’s activities in the country.

He said CBK did not flag the Sh2.5 billion because M-Pesa handles large volumes of cash daily.

President William Ruto successfully hosted 20 Presidents led by Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu and the President of Southern Sudan together with the President of Rwanda at his official residence in Nairobi.

After attending yesterday’s conference President William ruto organised for an evening banquet where the 20heads of state together with 16 former heads of states, of organisations together with the African Union representative gathered to unwind after the climatic conference.

According to the images, there was pomp and colour with several cabinet secretaries from Kenya also being part of the delegation that attended the dinner celebration in Honour of the successful event.

New Details Emerge on Whom Azimio Wants to Appoint IEBC Officials in the Ongoing Talks at Bomas

The bipartisan talks between the Kenya Kwanza government and Azimio the Bomas of Kenya are still taking place with the two camps working out together to find the solutions on the raised issues.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa is leading the government side consisting of five members while Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka is leading the opposition camp also comprising of five members.

Details have emerged from the ongoing talks at the Bomas of Kenya that Azimio are rooting for the appointment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials from the political parties.

According to the reliable source we have from the Daily Nation newspaper dated today Wednesday 6th September 2023, Inter-Party Parliamentary Group (IPPG) should spearhead radical electoral reforms such as appointing of new iebc officials to head the electoral commission ahead of the polls.
