Cracks Emerge in Raila’s Inner Circle; Chebukati Slams Raila’s Protests as He Opens up on IEBC Servers & Miguna Joins Race to Become DPP

Good morning,

Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Monday took many by surprise after he opted to walk to the stage and later boarded a matatu to work as he steps up his protest against the rising cost of living.

The ODM leader’s stunt came days after he called on Kenyans to carpool, walk or use public service vehicles to work to reduce the usage of fuel and consequently deny the government fuel tax.

While addressing his supporters in Nairobi CBD, the former Prime Minister urged Kenyans to support the 10 million signature collection exercise he launched on Friday in his bid to pressure President William Ruto with a fresh wave of anti-government protests.

However, the move attracted wrath from Ruto’s camp which accused Raila of hoodwinking Kenyans with political gimmicks.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei accused the ODM supremo of being power-hungry as he slammed him for taking a stroll around Nairobi’s CBD on Monday claiming the move was meant to interrupt the normal running of businesses.

Do you think Raila’s move to drop his luxury cars for public transport is just a gimmick? And will he succeed in forcing Ruto to give in to his demands with his renewed protests?

Here are the stories making headlines on Opera News this morning:
