Good morning

There are no permanent enemies in politics so they say and this might have served as the major highlight in Mudavadi’s National Delegates Conference which went down on Sunday at Bomas of Kenya.

Although Mudavadi’s ANC had earlier rubbished claims that he was set to partner with Deputy President William Ruto, his allies were treated to a surprise after the two leaders publicly declared their partnership and shared their plans to work together ahead of the August 2022 elections.

Speaking in regard to this move, UDA partly leader Ruto stated that they both arrived at that decision after discussions that led them to agree on prioritizing the needs of Kenyan citizens.

“The only two candidates who have identified economy as the place to begin from is ANC and UDA. The coming together of the two will have a chance to deal with the challenges facing our nation. Hustlers need uchumi bora which must start at the bottom, “he said.

Mudavadi also took a swipe at the current government criticizing it for derailing the country’s economic growth.

The union of the two leaders has attracted mixed reactions in the political scene with some leaders congratulating the duo while others like COTU boss Atwoli warning that partnership with the Deputy president might not earn any leader a direct ticket to the statehouse.

While the Sunday event marked a new journey for Mudavadi and his newly found ally, there are reports that his declaration might have created more cracks in OKA and this is after OKA principals who were also in attendance during the conference were spotted storming out of the venue. Further reports indicate that he has been kicked out of the One Kenya Alliance.

Do you think that Mudavadi and Ruto’s partnership is a gamechanger for the August 2022 elections?
