It is yet another week that began on a high in the political world.
Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has been a man under siege for the last couple of days.
Sakaja found himself the talk of the town after he was arrested for flouting Covid-19 rules.
What made the whole incident interesting was the politician denying that he was behind bars, yet a video footage that had gone viral indicated otherwise.
Feeling the heat after his remarks, the youthful leader swallowed his words and confessed to his mistakes.
To show how remorseful he was, the vocal senator resigned from the Senate ad hoc committee on Covid-19 where he was the Chair.
The Jubilee party member’s noble move was, however, rejected by a section of politicians led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.
Malala promised that he would rally the Senate to reject the resignation.
According to the Kakamega lawmaker, Sakaja’s incident was a minimal error and should not have been blown out of proportion.
This brings up two big questions, should Sakaja keep his position in the committee or should the Speaker of the Senate accept his resignation?

The frustrated Kuria alleged that his interview with Spice FM was scrapped off after orders from Baringo senator Gideon Moi.
He further claimed that the same orders were issued to all media houses by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, barring him from being part of any discussions.
In a sarcastic manner, the controversial politician advised the media companies to first get approval from the handshake duo.
