Frank Lampard Plotting Revenge As Man United Visit The Bridge

Six months ago, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had a very troubling first experience as a Premier League manager. Making his debut as Chelsea manager at Old Trafford was always going to hard ask but not as tricky as it turned out to be.

Chelsea played the better football against Manchester United but the Red Devils ran riot in front of goal and put four past the Blues, without reply. It was a baptism of fire for the former Chelsea midfielder but if anything he has recovered quite well from the loss.

His team has been playing impressively well given the circumstances. Chelsea did not buy a single player in the summer window nor in January but the Blues sit pretty in fourth on the table, six points ahead of Manchester United in 8th.

However, Frank Lampard’s side has not been playing as well as they should lately, winning just two of their last five and keeping just one clean sheet in the same run.

The big news for them is that two of the players who were responsible for the poor result in August for Manchester United will be unavailable. Marcus Rashford is out for at least another month and will miss Monday’s clash while Paul Pogba will also miss the match as he recovers from an ankle injury.

The two were responsible for three of the goals, Rashford scoring two and Pogba assisting one.

Furthermore, Manchester United have not been playing well themselves and have won just two of their last five. In fact, they have won just once in the league from their last five fixtures and have lost the last two away from home.

The Red Devils embarrassed Frank Lampard on his special day but the English manager has learned the hard way and will be out for revenge come kick off on Monday.
