Turkish Giants Eyeing Arsenal Midfielder

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reportedly eyeing a January move for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil with the former Germany international out of favor at the Emirates.

With the Gunners fortunes in the league dwindling, Ozil is one of the players that have been blamed for not giving their best for the team. On Sunday he was substituted midway through their clash against Manchester City but reacted angrily despite his team being 3-0 down.

Reports in Turkey now indicate that the Fenerbahce have began talks with the Arsenal number 10 over a switch to the club on an initial loan deal before making the deal permanent in the summer.

His recent comments on Uighur Muslim minority in Xinjiang China further ruined his relationship with the club and Arsenal went further to issue a statement distancing themselves from the statement that slammed Chinese government over the treatment of the Muslim minority.

His 350,000 pounds a week wages is something the Gunners would like to get rid of from their wage-structure and letting him leave will make economic sense for the club.

Incoming head coach Mikel Arteta will have to decide on whether he wants to retain his former teammate in his team or let him leave.
