Unless a drastic change of events occurs, Arsenal looks set to appoint former captain and the current Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta as the new head coach.
Negotiations have been ongoing and it’s expected that the Spaniard will be named as the successor to Unai Emery before the Gunners face Everton on Saturday.
There were rumors earlier in the week that some of the senior players at the club wanted Carlo Ancelotti instead of the inexperienced Arteta. Interestingly, on Twitter, brother to Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang posted a message that seems to hint at exactly that!
In the tweet, Willy Aubameyang claimed that just he current interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg, Mikel Arteta is inexperienced and the wrong appointment for the Gunners.
The Tweet has been harshly received by most Arsenal fans..
If Aubameyang does not want to play under Arteta, Ljungberg or whoever is manager at Arsenal, he is free to leave
He is no Ian Wright

Arteta’s first task should be to strip Aubameyang of that captaincy. He’s not a good ambassador.

Maybe we’re starting to see some of the Aubameyang poison he was known for. Either way, we can’t put up with that sort of shit. Either the players buy in to whatever project we eventually do, or we move them on. Sick of it.

Could’ve told you this would happen. The Aubameyang family is full of ill disciplined troublemakers who want to have control over everything. If something isn’t right with them, they’ll publicly slate anyone (Auba on BVB, Auba on Gabon, his father on AFC, his brother on everyone)

Aubameyang’s contract expires June 2021 and it doesn’t look likely he will sign an extension currently. We cant afford to let him go into the final year of his contract and lose him for free either. Next month could be a case of sign or leave.
