Ruto-allied Mt Kenya MPs to Launch New Rallies Weeks After Sagana Meeting

Mt. Kenya MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto will, on Saturday, hold a major press conference in Embu and thereafter launch economic rallies in the region.

The revelations of their latest plans were announced by State House Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi on Twitter.

The latest move by the Tanga Tanga faction is not a surprise given that they had expressed dissatisfaction with the manner Sagana State Lodge meeting was organised.

In the meeting presided by President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Mt Kenya MPs who back Ruto were sidelined from addressing the gathering of 3000 people.

The MPs also lamented that they were never allowed to mobilise delegates to Sagana.

On the other hand, MPs allied to Uhuru are reported to have been allowed to attend up to 20 delegates.

Mt Kenya Tanga Tanga MPs also criticised the meeting saying it failed to address issues affecting Mt Kenyan including low prices for tea, milk and coffee.

Nakuru Town MP Kimani Ngunjiri, in a commentary published by The Star, claimed that the meeting had been organised by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho for Kielewe.

He claimed that goons from Nairobi made sure that MPs allied to Ruto did not access the VIP tent.

Kimani stated that the meeting divided the people from the region more as Uhuru chose to work with selected leaders.

After the Sagana meeting, the disgruntled MPs are reported to have met at the home of Gachagua Rigathi to strategise on how to counter it.

The planned meetings by the Ruto faction could further escalate the tension between them and the Kieleweke camp.
