Mariga Announces His Friday Plan for Kibra People

Jubilee candidate in the recently concluded Kibra by-election McDonald Mariga, will on Friday hold a thanksgiving ceremony for his supporters.

Statehouse Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi shared on his social media pages details of the event which will take place at the Bomas of Kenya.

“I want to let you know that I appreciate your support. Mungu Mbele (God first)” Mariga’s poster for the event reads.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Benard Imran Okoth won the seat after getting 24,636 votes while Mariga came second with 11, 230. Amani National Congress Candidate (ANC) Owalo emerged a third with 5, 275 votes with Ford Kenya’s candidate Khamisi Butichi garnering 260 votes.

It is not only Mariga who has thanked Kibra residents for voting for him in the hotly contested by-election but also ODM and ANC have taken the same route.

Three days after the polls, the ODM party held a rally at DC grounds to thank the voters for electing Imran.

Owalo has also erected a billboard in the constituency to appreciate residents who voted for him.

“Thank you Kibra for your votes. Let’s forge ahead together. Shukrani (Thanks)” the billboard message reads.

The billboard caught the attention of his Party boss Musalia Mudavadi who shared the photos on Twitter.
