Moses Kuria Tears into Waiguru Over Interview Utterances

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has continued with his onslaught against Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru, just days after embarrassing her over her political choices at her home ground.

Taking to social media, Kuria accused Waiguru of being out of touch with the Mt. Kenya electorate, including citizens in her Kirinyaga backyard.

“Dear Mrs Anne Mumbi Waiguru-Kamotho. Contrary to what you said on Citizen TV tonight, Mt Kenya grievances are real,” the legislator started off, in a rant that outlined several development issues that he thinks Waiguru should be concerned about.

“The people are yearning for development. The once-thriving economy is in tatters,” Kuria continued, specifically pointing out the rice farming economic engagement that put Kirinyaga on the economic spotlight in the 90s.

“Our cash crops including Kirinyaga rice have collapsed. There is a water shortage in all our 10 counties,” the Parliamentarian said, adding that Mt. Kenya youth are languishing in unemployment.

Kuria went ahead to reiterate his early November anger over the imminent collapse of the dairy sector due to unfair business practices by milk processing companies.

“Milk farmers are getting 17 shillings per litre because unscrupulous Kenyan companies are flooding the market with milk they have bought for Ksh 10 per litre in Uganda,” he said.

The MP further schooled Waiguru that the poultry sector is also on the verge of collapse, also, due to unfair competition fro Ugandan produce.

Expressing his dismay at the former Cabinet Secretary’s obliviousness to the sorry state of the once vibrant Mt. Kenya Counties, Kuria concluded by offering to take her on a tour of her own County so that she can witness how bad things are on the ground.

On Sunday, Kuria mocked Waiguru’s political career, specifically her new allegiance to ODM Leader Raila Odinga.

“She has committed political suicide as the Mt Kenya region is opposed to Mr Odinga’s style of politics. Residents from the region are also not happy with what Ms Waiguru did,” he stated.
