I Was Starstruck at First, Man United Winger Admits

Manchester United winger Daniel James has admitted that he was starstruck when he first joined the club from Championship side, Swansea City FC at the start of the season.

United splashed 15 million pounds to rope in the youngster who broke into Swansea’s first team last season and was also a target of several mid-table English Premier League sides before agreeing to move to Old Trafford.

He has been in fine form at Old Trafford where he has scored three goals and set up several others for his teammates. He has managed to establish himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team and is now one of the key players for the Red Devils.

In an interview, the Welsh forward admitted that he first got starstruck when he walked into the United dressing room.

“At the start, you are a bit starstruck when I went into United. It was weird being in the changing room at the start because you talk about these players all the time and then you are there,” he said.

The speedster further revealed that he expected to be a fringe player when he first joined the English giants and planned to work hard to get into the team.

‘I came to United maybe thinking I could be a fringe player. I wanted to try and get in the team as quickly as I could but I thought it may take a bit more time. The plan for the season for me was to play as many games as possible,
