ODM’s Reuben Katana Takes An Early Lead in Ganda Ward By-Elections

ODM’s Reuben Katana has taken an early lead in the Ganda Ward By-Elections.

Katana is leading in 7 Polling Stations out of the 12.

Aisha Jumwa’s Preferred Candidate Abdul Omar Mohamed who is an Independent Candidate is leading in 1 Polling Station.

Results from 4 polling stations are yet to be announced.

According to the Provisional results, Reuben Mwamure of ODM has 4189 While Abdul Omar has 2357.

The by-elections witnessed a huge turn out despite the heavy rains and the recent chaos that saw Malindi MP and her bodyguard arrested.

The two have since been released on a bond of Ksh 1 million or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 500,000 each.

Jumwa spent the night in police custody after a ruling on her bail application was pushed to Thursday.

Meanwhile the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC has revealed that Results from polling stations have started arriving at the various tallying centres.

The Ganda Ward has it’s tallying center at Takaye Primary School.

At the tallying centre the Returning Officer will consolidate the results on all Form 36As into Form 36B, declare the winner and issue them with a certificate.
