Injury Boost For Arsenal Ahead Of Sheffield United Clash

Ahead of Mondays Premier League clash with Sheffield Wednesday, Arsenal has received a huge injury boost with the news that Alexandre Lacazette is back in full training.

The striker missed Arsenal’s last 3 premier league matches with an ankle injury sustained in pre-season but he has resumed training and is in contention to play against Sheffield.

Alex is progressing well and is back in full training. A decision on his participation for Monday’s match at Sheffield United will be made in the forthcoming days, a Statement from the clubs official website read.

The striker has two goals so far this season, one in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium and the other in a 2-1 win over Burnley.

Also making a return to full training is attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe. He has been out for three weeks after suffering a concussion in the Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

The only negative for Arsenal the news that young academy graduate Reiss Nelson will be out of action for a month. The English winger has a problem on his right knee suffered while on duty with the England under 21 team.

Arsenal played a friendly match with Reading at their training base on Monday. All non-international players including Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin took part in the match which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Unai Emery’s side sits third on the English Premier League table with 15 points from the first 8 matches. The match kicks off at 10 PM on Monday.
